The Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) will be trying to decrease the current voting age of 20 years old to 18 years old. This will only be active when voting for national referendums on constitutional amendments. Any other election will continue using the age of 20 and older to vote. Along with the age change for constitutional amendments, they will also submit a bill to the Diet around the middle of February.
Even though it does not apply to myself, I do believe its a great proposition for younger people 18 years old. I fully support it. I wouldn't want my country to vote for amendments that I couldn't vote for at the earliest age possible, at the age of 18. I realized that Japan wants to revise their constitution, maybe today but maybe even in the future. It tells me how they're doing on the other side of the world. Be it a criminal who caused it or some kind of law they want to enforce to make their country better, it'll be for the greater good.
The article ties into politics because of the change in voting age for constitutional revisions. The change will help with more feedback to settle a decision for revisions. However, it doesn't help with any other election requiring a voting process, making it a little more useless to people.
